3. - Select background With the selection
tool (rectangle) I selected a part of the upper left of the background. To select almost
everything of the background I used Selections - Modify - Select Similar.
With the Shift key pressed and using the selection tool I selected all missing parts (you
don't have to be THAT precise, if you miss a spot or two, no problem).
Once again Select Similar. Be careful not to select anything of the flowers, ONLY the
background should be selected. If some part of the flowers is selected, undo your last
action (Ctrl-Z), OR keep the Ctrl-key pressed while using the selection tool to remove
these spots from the selection. |

5. Prepare quadrants Divide the image in
four quadrants: create a new layer and name it 'quadrants'
Double click selection tool:
left: 0, right: 125, top: 0, bottom: 125, custom size and position
checked
Flood fill this quadrant (#1) with solid white (solid color, match mode None, tolerance 0,
opacity 100, sample merged UNchecked)
Double click selection tool:
left: 125, right: 250, top: 125, bottom: 250, custom size and position
checked
Flood fill this quadrant (#4) with solid white (solid color, match mode None, tolerance 0,
opacity 100, sample merged UNchecked) |
